I don't speak Spanish, Japanese or French....

In the midst of this insane week of final papers, French exams and compositions and oral evaluations, hectic schedules and the first real signs of cold New England winter... there is one thing that NEVER FAILS to make me happy.

I LOVE THIS SONG.
I know it is a little cheesy. I know Jesse McCartney looks like he's ten years my junior.

No big deal. I still love it. :)

So, until life calms down juussst a little bit and I can put up some AWESOME pictures of the crazy weekend with Crae & Alex, I will give you this for your viewing pleasure:

WATCH IT. It will make you smile. :)

I can't believe I forgot to add this to the last post.

If you are anyone that knows anything about me at all, you probably know that I am in love with Chris Daughtry. I bought his first CD in the fall of my senior year of high school and blasted it all through spring and summer of 2007. Every word memorized... AND I'm pretty sure Chris & I are meant to someday be together for eternity. (He just hasn't realized it yet.) His second CD (it came out this summer) is just as good as the first. (Also have every word memorized of that one.... sheesh.)

Austin surprised me a few weeks ago with a text that went something like: "hey, did you know Daughtry is playing in Bridgeport this semester?" I totally didn't believe him. Bridgeport is like 20 minutes away. NO WAY was Chris coming that close to me without me realizing it. BUT... he was right, and he already had tickets.

I pretty much died of happiness right there. And couldn't really concentrate on homework for the next month or so.

The concert was this past Tuesday and it was A BLAST. I was an idiot & didn't bring my camera into the arena, but thankfully Austin remembered his. :)

THE GAME.

Yale-Harvard, aka the Game-with-a-capital-G, is the biggest weekend of fall semester. It is SO FUN. This year it was at home, and though it was definitely much more insane than freshman year, we still managed to pull it off. I'm president of our church group here, and we planned a lot of fun things for the Harvard, Georgetown, MIT, and Johns Hopkins kids that all came for the Game.

But the BEST part of the weekend - seeing my little brother again!!
yesss.... I LOVE it when Crae visits. (He's probably so sick of me.) hahaha

Here are some fun pictures from our crazy weekend:

This is what I do in statistics class.

I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN SO LONG.
And don't worry that now, when I'm finally updating, I'm doing so in the middle of my statistics class. Yeah. About that. :)

This semester is insane. For so many reasons I can't even begin to describe. Besides taking a craaaazy courseload (a midterm every week for the past five weeks?! um...no thanks), the swine flu going around, working three jobs here (I KNOW), applying for summer internships/spring break programs, and trying to keep up with some semblance of a social & spiritual life, IT'S INSANE.

But... as always.... I love it. :) It's a waaaay more difficult semester than I expected, for a lot of reasons, but I'm loving the way it's turning out.

Anyway, I simply HAVE to upload some pictures because we've had so much fun so far - and it's not even Thanksgiving break yet! So, as my stats professor is talking about ANOVA and transforming regressions (what?), I'm going to focus on these!:

1. Yale-Princeton-Columbia LDSSA trip to SIX FLAGS (um...YES.)
I don't even remember where we got this idea, but at some point last year Rhett & I were like, "hey, we should go to Six Flags" and then this summer when I met Carey (the president of the Princeton LDSSA in Paris), we said, "hey.... it'd be fun to go to Six Flags" - so when we came back to school in the fall, I was already figuring logistics out in my head. :) Somehow we managed to pull it off & had a blast!

2. Throwing our roomie Sarah a party for her birthday
I love these people. With all my heart and soul.

3. The SAFETY DANCE
I swear, my residential college is the BEST. I LOVE that we host the '80's-themed Safety Dance every year. (ummm....remember last year? hahaha!) This year got a little crazy, but still a blast. :)

-(this is the best thing ever).....drum roll please....
4. Spending the day in New York City WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER
Um... we're basically the coolest brother & sister e.v.e.r.
The Columbia/NYU LDSSAs hosted an Amazing Race event around Manhattan & I begged Crae to meet up with us. It was SO. MUCH. FUN. I loved seeing my little brother & hanging out with these great boys all day long.

You think all this looks fun? Just wait... we've got LOTS of fun in store for us over the next few weeks. (YALE vs. HARVARD WEEKEND, ANYONE? yesssssss)

Girls just wanna have fun...

...especially on weekend evenings when they're stuck at home playing mom until Tuesday. (And let me tell you, I think long-term, multi-child babysitting is definitely the most effective form of birth control out there.) So to escape the Saturday evening doldrums, Livy & I invited a few of our cousins to an impromptu photo shoot here in Hicksville, USA. We had three lovely little participants (one of whom had not taken her afternoon nap & therefore had no interest in "looking like a princess"). But it worked out okay. :)

Here are just a few samples...

Dear Paris,

You know I love you. You know you're gorgeous. You know you're everyone's favorite city.
So... why are you being so bipolar?!

It'd be awesome if you'd maybe stop raining for a bit.
I'm sick of having my picnic plans ruined. And I haven't bought a cute enough umbrella yet.
Capiche? Kthanksbye.

(Though you are quite pretty when you're raining, too.)

It's the pointy ears, I think.

Don't worry that I have a huge midterm tomorrow that I will probably be studying for until the wee hours of the morning. Don't worry that it's 2 in the afternoon & the only productive thing I've done today is go grocery shopping. Don't worry that right now, instead of studying, I'm posting a random blog (that has nothing to do with Paris).

A few minutes ago I came across this article from a link on one of my favorite blogsites for women. I'm assuming everyone has seen Star Trek, right? As in, the INCREDIBLE new movie that came out at the beginning of this summer?

Now, since I'm (stereotypically) usually a fan of the macho-man type, you'd think that I would've gone for Kirk, right?

Oh, no no no...
Ladies, I'm all about this guy:

Is it weird that I have a massive crush on Spock?!
He's way smarter than anyone else on that ship. And intelligence is SO underrated in men these days.
He totally loved his mom, which means a good husband, right?
He can help our kids with their math homework, which is definitely something I won't be able to do.
He has a job & career stability. Plus we'd get to travel. Like, all over the universe. At warp speed.
He's hilarious without meaning to be, which means he'll never be cocky/arrogant/a jerk (like Kirk!!).
He totally understands human emotions & thus will never be irritated with me when I get a little, um, worked up. (Not that I ever do, of course.)

If only the
bowl cut would go... it's way too reminiscent of my little brothers circa 1999. Yikes!

So maybe we'll just go with Zachary Quinto himself. Though no Christian Bale (YUM)... he's pretty easy on the eyes himself. :) Hel-loo there...

Who was your favorite summer blockbuster hottie? :)
